Dónall Billings

Dónall Billings is a professional artist with a breadth of experience in printmaking. He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Ulster (School of Art) Belfast and a Masters in Arts Management at Queen’s University Belfast. He was awarded the Santander and Belfast Print Workshop residency for experimental printmaking and alternative photography techniques.

He has worked as a technician for Seacourt Print Workshop and Belfast Print Workshop and continues to explore the potential of printmaking’s technical and artistic challenges through innovation, collaboration, mentoring and facilitation. He has worked in collaboration with many national, international organisations and artists through editioning, arts projects and community groups.

Dónall’s artwork is influenced by our relationships with each other, ourselves and our environment. This has manifested in work created on paper and work that is sculptural and/or combining all of these elements. He seeks to continually practice and remain open to influences that will enable the
creation of artwork of a high standard that offers the best voice for self-expression.
